Gender Advocate

Gender Advocates are peer counselors who provide compassionate listening and affirming resources to other trans and nonbinary individuals. Are you ready to give back to your trans siblings by supporting them as they navigate their gender congruence journey?

This is a rewarding experience that requires an intentional time commitment:

20 hour training program
- Next training starts July 2026
4 hours per week for 6 months (after training program)
Remote (can be located anywhere across the US)
Reliable access to computer and internet is required
Must identify as trans or nonbinary

Support Group Facilitator

Support Group Facilitators are trans and nonbinary people who facilitate bi-weekly support groups to foster healing and interconnectedness within the trans community. Facilitators create a welcoming and supportive environment for participants to share their stories and build community.

This is a rewarding experience that requires an intentional time commitment:

10 hour training program
- Next training: May 4 – May 25 | Mondays, 4:30–7pm PT / 7:30–10pm ET (4 sessions)
1.5 hours every other week for 6 months
Remote (can be located anywhere across the US)
Reliable access to computer and internet is required
Must identify as trans or nonbinary

Action Hour Volunteer

Raise funds for TACT with other donor organizers through high-impact fundraising campaigns like our Pride Campaign and our End-of-Year Campaign.

Is this volunteer experience right for me?

TACT centers the lived experience of trans and nonbinary people and is a trans-led organization. TACT is committed to the inclusion of all members of our community. We welcome and strongly encourage people from historically marginalized and economically disadvantaged groups, including BIPOC, trans-feminine folks, folks with disabilities, and folks from working class backgrounds to apply.

What can I expect as a TACT volunteer?

As a new grassroots nonprofit, it’s all hands on deck. We are currently seeking volunteers who are willing to take initiative and jump in wherever they are needed most.

I want to help out but I have a limited amount of time to give. What position is right for me?

For folks who want to volunteer but cannot commit a large amount of time to volunteer work, we recommend our Action + Outreach volunteer position. This position only requires 1 hour of your time each week and is entirely remote.

For folks who are located in the Bay Area, we also have opportunities to support on an occasional and as needed basis as an Events Volunteer.

Do you offer internship opportunities?

Yes, we do! Our internships provide an opportunity to have a deeper impact on our organization while gaining valuable skills and educational credits. At this time, internships are unpaid and are only open to enrolled undergraduate and graduate students.
