Gender Advocate
Gender Advocates are peer counselors who provide compassionate listening and affirming resources to other trans and nonbinary individuals. Are you ready to give back to your trans siblings by supporting them as they navigate their gender congruence journey?
This is a rewarding experience that requires an intentional time commitment:
- 20 hour training program
- Next training starts July 2026
- 4 hours per week for 6 months (after training program)
- Remote (can be located anywhere across the US)
- Reliable access to computer and internet is required
- Must identify as trans or nonbinary


Support Group Facilitator
Support Group Facilitators are trans and nonbinary people who facilitate bi-weekly support groups to foster healing and interconnectedness within the trans community. Facilitators create a welcoming and supportive environment for participants to share their stories and build community.
This is a rewarding experience that requires an intentional time commitment:
- 10 hour training program
- Next training: May 4 – May 25 | Mondays, 4:30–7pm PT / 7:30–10pm ET (4 sessions)
- 1.5 hours every other week for 6 months
- Remote (can be located anywhere across the US)
- Reliable access to computer and internet is required
- Must identify as trans or nonbinary
Volunteer Roles for Everyone
These general support roles are open to trans folks and allies!
Action Hour Volunteer
Highly needed!
1-3 hours per week (virtual/remote)
Attend weekly action hours and help us expand our impact!
Events Volunteer
As needed, in person, Bay Area
Provide support with organizing and staffing at fundraising and community building events.
Database Volunteer
5 hours per week (virtual/remote)
Conduct research and gather information to help build our trans resource database.
Donor Organizer
As needed (virtual/remote)
Raise funds for TACT with other donor organizers through high-impact fundraising campaigns like our Pride Campaign and our End-of-Year Campaign.

Become a Specialized Volunteer
Are you a design wizard? A strategy mastermind? Adept at copywriting, illustration, or social media? Knowledgable about web development, strategic planning, or grant writing?
Whatever your area of expertise may be, we need your support! As a grassroots organization, support from skilled volunteers goes a long way. Even just a few hours of your time can make a real difference.
